What excites you about being part of the Cherre family?
From the time that I was in college, I was always told that the future was about data. For a long time those were just words to me. When I fully understood what Cherre was building, I finally got it. It’s not really about real estate, but the power of data to drive business decisions.
At Cherre, we are all snow leopards – what are you working on and what makes you unique?
I’m working on integrating our current end to end testing platform into our current deployment pipeline. In simpler words, we have a set of tests that run every amount of time checking our system’s health and performance. My goal is to link that to each feature we develop before releasing it.
How do you give back to the community to change our world for the better?
I’m teaching programming to all of those who are curious and don’t know exactly what first steps to take. I used to be a math teacher before getting myself into programming. There’s something about teaching that makes me proud of those countless hours of answering questions. I don’t want to get to the top of the rock just by myself, I want to go as far as I can while having others by my side.
What keeps you curious and engaged to grow personally/professionally?
Before Cherre, I didn’t have a name for it. I know now that they call it hunger. But for me, hunger was a matter of not knowing it all. You can see yourself pressured to understand and learn everything there is to know about technology. I guess I see it differently, I see it as climbing while enjoying the climb. Isn’t it beautiful to realize that there’s always something new to learn, to try, to experience? It might be overwhelming, but here I am to climb the rock while helping others to do it as well.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Nowadays I’m super busy with what I called my 2021 project, my house. I’m so excited about the construction, materials, process, designs and having something custom made accommodating every little detail I can think of to my own living. Besides that strong materialism, I practice yoga in Iyengar and love watching and discussing cinema.
What is the last book you read/movie you watched?
I’m currently reading Submission, a novel by Michel Houellebecq. I love that writer, but I don’t know if this is his best work. Also I have recently watched Die Welle, what a great movie. Somehow I feel like these two pieces touch each other at some point. Radicalization, globalization, governments and mass manipulation. What a time to be alive!
If your life were being turned into a movie, who would play you or narrate your story?
When I was young I used to be told I looked like an Argentinean actor named Damián de Santo. Let’s hide those high school pictures for a while, if you know what I mean. But if I have to choose a narrator, that’s David Attenborough for sure! He’s so good at transmitting a gentle calmed vibe. He has this tone that invites you to listen and learn whatever he’s saying about how the world works.
