What excites you about being part of the Cherre family?
Everyone is so different (culturally, technically, interpersonally) that we learn a lot just by being around each other, but we all have a common love of data.
At Cherre, we are all snow leopards – what are you working on and what makes you unique?
I translate client problems into data problems, then use code and math to help solve those client problems.
How do you give back to the community to change our world for the better?
The best ways to give back are not with grand annual gestures, but with daily small acts of service, capital, and time.
What keeps you curious and engaged to grow personally/professionally?
The world is too big and beautiful to not be curious. YouTube and podcasts also help.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Running (2 marathons, 5 half marathons, and counting), reading, volunteering, and music (I named my violin “Sebastian” after J.S. Bach)
What is the last book you read/movie you watched?
The Shape of Inner Space by Shing-Tung Yau and Steven J. Nadis. I’m still working on proving some of the theorems to myself, but the book is well-written and the analogies are easy to follow. It’s really beautiful to see how mathematics opens doors to so many other fields.
If your life were being turned into a movie, who would play you or narrate your story?
I would LOVE to watch Ali Wong make nerdy engineering jokes.
