A Letter from our Co-Founders

We’re incredibly excited to announce that Cherre has joined RealPage.

Together, we’ll continue the same journey we started almost a decade ago at Cherre, building the industry-leading, governed, and trusted real assets data platform to power the rapidly expanding world of AI-driven solutions.

For our clients and partners, that means more resources to invest in you, more dedication to the mission we started together, and a much more powerful ecosystem. We’re committed, perhaps now more than ever, to achieving that reality together.

There are very few moments in time that resemble what we’re witnessing now. When we started the company, our vision was ambitious. We believed that what we had seen and experienced firsthand in financial services would eventually find its way to every part of the asset universe. We had watched an incredibly powerful industry transition from one driven by relationships and information asymmetry to one where speed, operational excellence, and access to unique and proprietary information became paramount.

While that moment was profound for the industry, it was especially profound for those of us who already viewed the asset universe, and perhaps the universe as a whole, as a complex web of mathematical relationships. It was a moment of triumph. Facts over feelings. The scientific method over intuition. Accountability over opacity. If this revolution could sweep through the old boys’ club of Wall Street in such a short period of time, with the bulk of it occurring before the mainstream internet era, imagine what it could do to real estate. That moment of clarity led to the birth of Cherre.

To say that we predicted the extraordinary future we’re now living through would ordinarily be an act of extreme hubris, and one that grossly overfits the prediction, so to speak. But what we did predict is frighteningly closer to today’s reality than one might imagine from the outside. We anticipated a world in which data would be the only true differentiator in an environment ruled by models, whether deterministic or probabilistic, procedural or autonomous. We imagined that such a world would require unbridled access to that data, mapped to a single ontology, adaptable semantic models, and a robust knowledge graph. We anticipated that the data would need to be transparently governed and systematically maintained in order to empower, what we today colloquially call, agents to carry out their tasks autonomously and accurately. We recognized that the context around every piece of information, the metadata attached to every decision, question, or action, would become invaluable over time for more accurate and reliable predictions that would affect every part of the ecosystem. We were also right in predicting how profound the moment would look when it arrived, and how clairvoyant we might appear when that day finally came.

And here we stand today.

The rapid proliferation of AI across the industry is astonishing and unprecedented. In our lifetime, there has never been a more pronounced moment of freedom to rethink how this industry operates. Financial and operational efficiency, market research, investment thesis development, risk management, capital formation, and the countless daily decisions that sit underneath all of them are all suddenly open to reinvention. There’s no part of our industry where the light of this future won’t eventually shine. This is the exact future we could dream of when we first started.

If it weren’t for the original memos and drawings, and for the endless conversations we had in those early days about how we envisioned the future, something only a strange mix of insanity and naivety could generate, would anyone even believe us today? At the time, the industry had little interest in hearing our message. Today, we keep some of those early drawings framed in the office, a gift from a cherished member of the Cherre community who has since gone on to do great things elsewhere. It’s a reminder of both where we started and how incredibly far we’ve come, and also of how far we still have to go to fulfill that vision.

But it’s also a reminder of how the Cherre ideas have proliferated across the industry. You can now find Cherre employees in leadership positions throughout the ecosystem, leading the charge in reshaping some of the largest organizations in the world and carrying the Cherre vision, spirit, and ideals with them. There’s absolutely no greater source of pride, and no greater testament to what we’ve built here as a community, than the impact we’ve had beyond our own walls.

Our motto is “at the top of the mountain we are all snow leopards,” a quote by the infamous Hunter S. Thompson, that embodies the ethos of seeking to be the best at everything we do, and forcing us to think beyond the consensus. It’s that exact dedication and ambition that has gotten us to where we are today.

We’ve left an extraordinary, unforgettable, and lasting mark on the world, and we can’t wait to leave an even greater mark in our collective future.

Thank you for joining us on this journey. There’s so much more ahead of us!
