You can always count on the Real Estate Board of New York, better known as REBNY, to put together an event that brings together an extensive list of players in all parts of the industry. The REBNY Tech Expo was no exception, our team came out and joined the festivity in full force. We had a table amongst other fantastic real estate tech companies such as Urbandigs and Envelope, to showcase our product to the real estate professionals in attendance.
To secure our place as finalists in the Hackathon Gauntlet Challenge we created a solution to identify the true closing price of a property in New York City. In our presentation we discussed the details of how ACRIS prices and RLS prices often differ, as they include different taxes and fees, making it difficult to price properties currently on the market. We are able to do this by unwinding taxes and recording fees from ACRIS closed price, and identifying RLS sales that need to be “closed out.”
Not only was it an honor to present our work alongside of the other finalists and learn about the products they had built for the competition, but it was an equally great experience to see how many companies came out to showcase their products to NYC agents. We don’t often get the opportunity to have all the best tech companies used by New York real estate agents in one place – we are in a powerful industry! We truly enjoyed stopping by all of the tables to say ‘Hello’ to colleagues and see what innovative things they are working on next. The future of real estate tech in New York is bright!
