Israel has become synonymous with technology, especially startups. Not only has Tel Aviv become a hotbed for technology start ups such as Waze and Wix, Israeli capital has been helping fund startups in the U.S. as well.
It seems like a given to have a dynamic group of Israeli Entrepreneurs putting the spotlight on startups here in New York with Israeli Founders. Lior Vaknin, the founder of Israeli Startups NYC, created a group where budding companies can come for anything from legal and immigration advice, to fundraising opportunities. Seeing as our team’s co-founders, L.D. Salmanson, and Ben Hizak, both come from Israeli roots, we were thrilled at the opportunity to connect with, and see what Israeli Startups NYC was all about.
To start our year off right, our team had the privilege of joining the Israeli Startups 2017 Kickoff Event at AOL HQ where we were warmly welcomed by faces both old and new. Being given the platform to share our story about how Cherre came to be and how we are taking on the mission to improve the real estate data industry was met with an enthusiasm that was absolutely contagious. Most of the people in the room had come face to face with the issues we were solving at some point in one way or another, which made for an engaging Q & A discussion with the audience.
Fellow presenters were Outernets, Gong, and Siemplify. After the four companies presented we all conveined for drinks and conversation. This presented the perfect opportunity to network and learn further about the other entrepreneurs who joined the event. From grocery delivery services, to marketing, to cyber security, there was no shortage of knowledge to absorb from these ambitious Startups. Needless to say, we felt right at home and couldn’t have asked for a more welcoming group. We are humbled by all that Israeli Startups NYC does for the community.
