Joining the Cherre Family
I was looking to work at an early-stage startup again, and a friend strongly recommended that I take a look at Cherre. Interacting with the team, I became really excited about how they talked about the team culture, a strong focus on the data, and the potential for innovative data science applications.
I’m a Snow Leopard
The exciting part of data science is working with lots of different datasets; my goal is to extract actionable insights from that data. Making something “actionable” can take on many forms – I tend to work on a lot of unsupervised learning problems. I have a strong problem solver mindset, which I like to apply to big, messy projects.
One of the projects I’m working on is developing a knowledge graph of our accumulated data. Once we can connect the dots there’s a lot of questions about commercial real estate nationally that we’ll be able to answer. Most of the fun is finding new data sources to add into the graph.
I’m also invested in making data science production-able – working with engineering to integrate data science applications into reusable and scalable pipelines. It’s always exciting when you can see your work put in front of live customers.
